City Center one Welcomes New Neighbours
Did you know that some of nature’s most important heroes don’t wear capes, but wings? Wild bees are among the key pollinators in our ecosystem, and City Center one has decided to provide them with a new, safe place to live.
Bee hotels for wild, or solitary, bees have been installed on the green area in front of the centre. These small, hardworking, and completely harmless pollinators play a vital role in preserving biodiversity. Unlike honeybees, solitary bees do not live in hives, do not produce honey, and do not defend a colony, which means they are non-aggressive and safe around people.
Although tiny, their impact is enormous. By pollinating plants, they help them grow, bloom, and bear fruit, contributing to healthy plant communities, food production, and the natural balance of ecosystems. However, due to the ongoing loss of natural habitats, many pollinator species are struggling to find suitable nesting sites.
That is why these bee hotels, made from natural materials, have been installed to create new safe spaces where wild bees can live and reproduce. In short: a little more greenery, a little more buzzing, and a lot more benefits for nature.
This initiative is part of City Center one’s broader commitment to supporting nature conservation through tangible projects and helping to create a more sustainable environment for future generations.
Because sometimes, small steps make a big difference.
