SEE YOU AT THE FRIENDSHIP BENCH

One bench, countless opportunities for friendship.

The international educational and humanitarian project Friendship Bench was launched to help prevent peer violence and promote inclusion, empathy, and tolerance among children through creative activities and play. Children are encouraged to build meaningful friendships.

The Friendship Bench is a wooden bench located on the first floor of City Center one, decorated by you. Any child looking for company, wanting to start a new game, or join an existing one can sit on the bench. Sitting on the bench is a sign that the child is open to contact and interaction with others.

Research shows that after introducing the Friendship Bench, children became more open, communicative, and empathetic. The level of peer violence decreased, awareness of inclusion increased, and children from vulnerable groups joined play activities more often.
